"This family run business, now in its third generation, is one of the gems of San Pedro. Unobtrusive, there is not much "curb appeal" to the establishment, but inside you enter a world of sewing machines and vacuum cleaners with all the accoutrement's. But lots of places sell stuff like this. The glory of {Bay Cities Vac Sew & Carpet} is that it really fixes things, too. We dropped off a 50 year old Bernina and a week later if hummed. We bought, on their recommendation, a Miele vacuum, the best we have ever owned. The staff is both friendly and knowledgeable, out to make you a customer as long as you live in Pedro, not just make a quick sale for the commission. They will offer advice on their products and your vac when asked, and invariably it is the best I have received.
One unadvertised special is that they will also sharpen scissors and your kitchen knives -- for an incredible $1 each."

I have purchased several sewing machines and vacuums from Bay Cities over the years - not just for my home but for my sewing business, too. I have purchased a houseful of carpet and vinyl flooring, as well. I love the straight talk they give about product quality, and a fair price. The customer service is exemplary and they have kept my machines and shears in very good working order. I moved a couple hours drive away, but I still make the trip when I need my machines serviced.
